In Loving Memory of Dr John Shepperson

This page is dedicated to honouring the memory of John Shepperson, dearly loved husband of Jeeva, much-loved son of Paul and Maralyn, and dad to Amelia. He was also a cherished brother to Helen, brother-in-law to Ian, and a much-loved uncle and friend.

John graduated from the University of Birmingham with a PhD in chemical engineering and powder technology in 1999-2003. He was a senior regulatory medical device consultant who worked diligently for over two decades to improve patients' quality of life.

John was an avid cricket fan and travel enthusiast with immense knowledge of geopolitics. Sadly, John was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma stage 4 in November 2022 at the age of 49 and passed away on 20th May 2023.
John, your brilliant mind and kind heart were a rare combination.

We miss you, and you will forever be in our memories.

Thoughts

YOU LEFT SO QUITELY ! In the depths of sorrow, I pen this ode, For a dear friend, now gone, on this heavy road. A decade we shared, through laughter and tears, A bond that time could never seve or smear. Oh, how I reminisce of days long past, When we stood together, with memories amassed. From your wedding bells that rang in the air, To celebrations that showcased thy love affair. Back in those days, through the highs and lows, we stood side by side, Shouldering burdens, as faithful allies tried. We dined together, with our dreams intertwined, In pursuit of success, our spirits aligned. But fate, with a cruel twist, took you away, Leaving behind a void that words cannot convey. For years, our paths diverged, distance grew wide, Yet thoughts of you lingered, filling me inside. The universe whispered, subtle signs it sent, Beckoning me to reach out, but I was negligent. I failed to grasp those indications clear, Now I mourn the chance to have drawn you near. Oh, how I ache, for that final embrace, To see your smile, one last time, your gentle face. But know, dear friend, you'll forever reside, In the deepest chambers where memories takes premise. I'll cherish the moments we laughed aside, The stories we shared, eternally tied. Your presence may fade from this earthly plane, But your essence, your spirit, in my heart will remain. Rest now, dear friend, in the heavens above, May peace be your companion, eternal love. As I bid you farewell, know you're deeply missed, And in my thoughts, your memory shall persist. Though we part ways in this earthly sphere, Our friendship endures, through joy and through fear. In the tapestry of life, you've left your mark, Forever a cherished light, even in the dark. Goodbye, dear friend, until we meet again, In a realm beyond, where pain finds an end. Know that I love you, and always will, And your legacy, in my heart, time cannot kill. ASH, 21st May 23

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
